Job Opportunity: Social Media & Communications Coordinator
Centaur Theatre – Montreal’s Premier English-Language Theatre Company
Centaur Theatre is seeking a creative, energetic, organized, and bilingual Social Media & Communications Coordinator to join our dynamic and fast-paced team for the 2025–26 theatre season. Position Overview
As the Social Media & Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in shaping and executing Centaur’s communications strategy. You'll work closely with our PR, Marketing & Sales teams (both internal and external) to craft engaging campaigns and build our online and offline presence and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Craft and implement Centaur’s social media strategy and calendar.
- Collaborate with the PR, Marketing & Sales teams to support campaign objectives across all platforms.
- Develop strategies and targets for increasing engagement and followers across all platforms.
- Monitor engagement data, marketing performance, and sales trends and adapt strategies accordingly.
- Create compelling written and visual content for social media, e-newsletters, online advertising platforms, and our website.
- Coordinate between various internal and external parties (e.g., graphic designer, copy editor, marketing consultants, etc.) to ensure timely delivery of assets.
- Plan, draft, and distribute newsletters and e-blasts.
- As needed, assist Artistic Director and Artistic Associates with communications-related tasks.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication skills in English and French (both written and oral).
- Strong copywriting skills.
- Working knowledge of key social media platforms, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, LinkedIn, TikTok.
- Creative eye with basic graphic design and video editing skills. Experience with design and editing software, e.g., Photoshop, Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or similar, would be an asset.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and contribute to successful marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrated competence working individually and as part of a team.
Education & Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, e.g. Communications, Marketing, English, French, or Theatre.
- 1–2 years’ experience managing social media and digital communication platforms.
- Previous experience in theatre or the performing arts sector is an asset.
Contract Details
- Contract Duration: September 5, 2025 – May 30, 2026
- Hours: 35 hours/week (at least 28 hours on-site; some remote work possible)
- Compensation: $1,500 - $1,750 biweekly (depending on level of experience)
- Possibility of renewal at the end of the contract term
