Resource Centre for the Arts is a community arts organization that owns and operates the LSPU Hall and RCA Theatre Company (RCAT). RCA provides resources and a supportive environment for the production and promotion of the Newfoundland and Labrador performing arts community.

Job Description

Position Overview: The Public Relations & Development Coordinator reports to the General Manager and the Artistic Animateur and is responsible for cultivating and maintaining the relationships of RCA’s key stakeholders: donors, sponsors, partners, and patrons and creating specific communication strategies to each of these groups.

Key Responsibilities

Donors, Sponsors, and Partners
• Identify and engage potential donors, corporate sponsors and partners.
• Prepare and deliver funding submissions, grant submissions, and proposals.
• Provide proper stewardship and recognition to new and existing donors/sponsors to maintain involvement, interest, and support
• Maintain donor management software.
• Create individualized impact reports for different stakeholder groups.
• Ensure that fundraising event/campaign participants, sponsors, donors, and volunteers are appropriately recognized for their contributions.
• Develop, promote, implement, and manage a planned giving and major gift program.

Communications & Marketing
• Develop and implement communication strategies to engage stakeholders.
• Using email subscription software, create engaging content for external communications, including monthly newsletters, quarterly updates, event invitations, and more.
• Manage social media platforms and online presence.
• For RCA Theatre Productions and Presentations – preparing and supervising the design, printing, and production of consistent publicity materials (posters, flyers, newsletters, handbills and programs). Occasionally it involves creating basic posters/graphics in-house.
• Fielding and responding to media inquiries.
• Coordinating the handling of reviewers, including contacting them, securing comp tickets, and addressing specific reviewer requests for publicity materials.
• Coordinating and overseeing photo sessions for public relations and marketing purposes.

Fundraising Support
• Assist with the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns and events.
• Support the creation and execution of fundraising materials, such as letters, appeals, and updates.

Qualifications
• A post-secondary degree or diploma is an asset; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• 3-5 years of experience in fundraising with a charitable organization is an asset.
• Experience working in the arts community
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating events, and communication strategies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with various software platforms, donor management software, website content management systems, email subscription tools, and Zoom.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends as required.

Start Date: September 29, 2025 (negotiable)
Permanent, Full Time (52 weeks), 35 hours/week, must be flexible to work evenings and weekends
