ABOUT THE POSITION
The PROGRAM COORDINATOR is a position that facilitates the development, planning, coordination, delivery, documenting, and reporting of strategic programs of PACT, with a specific focus on the Rising Tides and Connected Currents programs.
ABOUT RISING TIDES
Conceived and designed by a steering committee of national IBPOC administrative leaders, Rising Tides is a paid, multi-faceted skill development and mentorship program designed for IBPOC (Indigenous, Black, and People of Colour) performing arts administrators and managers. The program focuses on developing and mid-career administrators and managers, filling a gap in the national sector. This Rising Tides program will run from September 2025 through May 2026. Planning for Rising Tides 2026/27 will take place between May and August 2026.
ABOUT CONNECTED CURRENTS
Connected Currents is a virtual drop-in space for IBPOC arts administrators at all stages of their careers. It features both connection activities and IBPOC guest speakers who will offer their perspectives on the theatre sector’s past, present, and exciting future. The program is an opportunity to discuss current hot topics in the theatre sector, as well as an opportunity to foster national connections.
TERMS OF ENGAGEMENT
- This is a 10-month contract, engaged by PACT, commencing between August 18 and September 2, 2025, ending June 30, 2026.
- Working remotely, with some travel required for PACTcon 2026 in Whitehorse, April 21 - 26, 2025 (Whitehorse, Yukon). Travel expenses will be covered.
- Averaging 24 hours per month, with some flexibility to be negotiated.
- $30.00 (CAD) per hour, paid in arrears on a biweekly basis.
- The position requires familiarity with issues and challenges experienced by IBPOC theatre professionals working in Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Development and Planning:
- Coordinate planning meetings of the program steering committee for the purpose of receiving input on program design and implementation.
- Develop and design a workplan for Rising Tides and Connected Currents within the program framework as laid out by the steering committee.
- Adjust and refine the programs’ goals and content in response to feedback from the steering committee or as needed.
- Develop program materials to clearly communicate program components, expectations, and support successful engagement.
Event Coordination:
- Communicate with program participants and be their first point of contact throughout the program.
- Coordinate logistics of online virtual events, including the kick-off event and full-cohort events, and play an active facilitator role as required.
- Support the curation and coordination of in-person events at PACTcon.
- Curtate and coordinate the participation of invited subject matter experts, active listeners, and other guests at virtual and in-person events.
- Support the logistics of financial payments for all program participants, including mentors, mentees, guests, facilitators, consultants, etc.
- Facilitate input including participant and staff feedback, towards a responsive program design that meets the needs of program participants and improves program delivery.
- Develop prompts to support meaningful mentor-mentee conversations, and encourage their routine connections.
Reporting:
- In consultation with PACT management and the Steering Committee, develop impact tracking mechanisms to understand and report the impact of the program, including participant surveys throughout program delivery.
- Ensure accurate and complete financial tracking and reporting.
- Support the documentation and reporting of the program to funders and stakeholders.
General Operational:
- Where capacity allows, this position will support the strategic and operational plans of PACT, with the request of reasonable additional responsibilities.
