New Leaders Series
Since 2020, our sector has gone through a tremendous amount of change, including an unprecedented increase in turnover of leadership positions. The New Leaders Series is a monthly program curated to support these theatre workers through guest speakers, resource sharing, and peer to peer support.
Each session is 60 minutes, which includes an interactive presentation by invited guests, followed by a moderated Q&A.
How to Participate:
- Complete the New Leaders registration form.
- Registration is free.
- Open to anyone who has stepped into the role of Artistic Director, Managing Director, and other comparable positions since early 2020.

Soft Mentorship Pilot Program
At the in-person New Leaders Roundtable in Halifax 2025, folks expressed a desire for mentorship. From our discussions, we are happy to introduce the Soft Mentorship Pilot Program.
Soft Mentorship refers to a mentor-mentee relationship without expectations of regularly scheduled meetings, agenda items, or reporting. Our aim in this program is to partner interested new leaders with an experienced leader in the sector. Someone they can reach out to when they have a question, are facing a challenge, or require some support.
How it works:
Once you have signed up for this year's New Leaders Programming and expressed an interest in the mentorship, we will pair you with a mentor based on the areas you indicated you need support with. We will then connect the two of you and hand off communication. You can then choose your method of communication between yourselves and start your partnership. We encourage the pairings to work together for one year. However, based off of how your professional relationship develops, we empower you to decide amongst yourselves if you would like this partnership to continue.
In this program, there will be no legal advice given. For any legal questions, please seek out a legal professional. There will also be no interpretation of labour agreements.
