New Leaders Series: featuring the Soft Mentorship Pilot Program

Since 2020, our sector has gone through a tremendous amount of change, including an unprecedented increase in turnover of leadership positions. The New Leaders Series is a monthly program curated to support these theatre workers through guest speakers, resource sharing, and peer to peer support.
Each session is 60 minutes, which includes an interactive presentation by invited guests, followed by a moderated Q&A. Registration is free, and open to anyone who has stepped into the role of Artistic Director, Managing Director, and other comparable positions since early 2020.

At the in-person New Leaders Roundtable in Halifax 2025, folks expressed a desire for mentorship. From our discussions, we are happy to introduce the Soft Mentorship Pilot Program!
Soft Mentorship refers to a mentor-mentee relationship without expectations of regularly scheduled meetings, agenda items, or reporting. Our aim in this program is to partner interested new leaders with an experienced leader in the sector. Someone they can reach out to when they have a question, are facing a challenge, or require some support.
