Job Description

The Opportunity

The Globe Theatre is seeking an organized and thoughtful Company Manager to help artists feel welcome, supported, and ready to do their best work. This role combines artist care with the practical coordination and administration that support a busy theatre season. 

 

Reporting to the Artistic Producer and working closely with the Artistic Director, the Company Manager coordinates travel and accommodation, supports artist contracting and auditions, and helps manage the day-to-day administration of the Globe’s programming. They are a key point of contact for visiting artists throughout their time in Regina and collaborate with colleagues across the organization on productions, events, and special projects. 

 

This position will suit someone who enjoys working with people, pays close attention to detail, and can respond calmly and resourcefully when plans change.

Key Responsibilities

Artist Care and Company Management

 

  • Welcome artists and guests to the Globe Theatre and provide practical support throughout their engagement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for artists in residence, responding to questions and helping resolve issues in collaboration with the Artistic Producer and other colleagues.
  • Coordinate light refreshments for artists during the final production period of each show.
  • Share responsibility with the Artistic Producer for responding to urgent issues involving artists in residence outside regular working hours.
  • Work with colleagues to coordinate artist participation in opening nights, promotional appearances, and other scheduled activities.
  • Assist with the coordination and setup of Globe events as required.

 

Travel and Accommodation

 

  • Coordinate travel and accommodation for visiting artists, creative personnel, craftspeople, and other guests.
  • Confirm travel requirements with each artist and arrange bookings through Globe’s travel agent or directly with travel providers.
  • Coordinate reimbursements for eligible travel expenses, including ground transfers and additional baggage.
  • Assign accommodation in consultation with visiting artists, and arrange hotel stays when required.
  • Coordinate annual agreements with accommodation providers and arrangements for short-term or one-off stays.

 

Programming Administration

 

  • Support the Artistic Producer in preparing and administering artist contracts, including maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate auditions with the Artistic Director, including scheduling, communications, and related administration.
  • Work with the Artistic Producer and Production Manager to track assigned seasonal budget lines and related expenses.
  • Assist the Artistic Director and Artistic Producer with scheduling, travel arrangements, and other programming administration.
  • Handle artist contracts, payroll information, financial records, and other sensitive information with care, discretion, and confidentiality.

 

Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build welcoming, respectful relationships with artists, guests, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with careful attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
  • Confidence coordinating schedules, logistics, and multiple moving parts.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to respond calmly to unexpected situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
  • An interest in theatre and the arts, and a commitment to working collaboratively in an inclusive environment.

 

Compensation & Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position averaging 35 hours per week. Schedules vary with production and event needs and include occasional evening and weekend work, with some weeks exceeding 35 hours. Overtime is banked as time in lieu in accordance with Globe Theatre’s policies and applicable employment standards. 

 

Salary: $40,000–$49,999 per year, commensurate with experience.

This is primarily an in-person role based in Regina, with some flexibility for remote work where duties permit. Applicants must be based in Regina or the surrounding area by the start of employment. The Company Manager is expected to attend every production in the season as part of their work; additional attendance is encouraged.
